
Seeking admission to universities in Krakow varies from institution to institution however some general rules apply. These are being regulated by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
Candidates can apply either on an individual basis or within a framework of existing governmental agreements. In the latter case, applicants submit all necessary documents in Polish embassies or consulates, which are later transferred to the relevant university of the candidate’s interest. Students applying on an individual basis must be aware, that rules of admission vary depending on the institution they are applying to and programme they are interested in enrolling in. It is therefore strongly recommended that prospective students contact the department in question or consult the websites available for candidates.
Students who consider pursuing bachelor studies in Krakow must hold the certificate of secondary education completion which needs to be recognised as a Polish equivalent according to current regulations. Those wishing to commence master studies must hold a bachelor degree or the equivalent of 180 ECTS gained. In general, citizens of the EU and EFTA countries are admitted according to the same rules and regulations that apply to Polish citizens.
